A lifelong Long Islander, Rich and his wife Holly wanted to move closer to his work in Manhattan and sought out the best place to raise their children. They settled on East Rockaway because it had the home town feel they were looking for. Rich started out volunteering as a Little League manager and later was a local travel baseball coach. He is a member of the East Rockaway American Legion and has helped students from both East Rockaway and Lynbrook High Schools participate in the American Legion Oratory Contest on the US Constitution and Boy’s State.

Rich is a graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point where he served as a Cadet Commander and the US Army’s Defense Language Institute, Airborne and Nuclear Weapons Training Schools. He has served both in the US and overseas on active duty and the reserves reaching the rank of CPT.

Rich has spent 20 years in the healthcare field leading several corporate restructuring efforts both for US and international based businesses and currently leads a National Sales force. In the last 15 years he has earned an MBA in economics from NYU and used that education to increase capabilities while keeping an eye on the bottom line.

In addition to the American Legion, Rich has served several years on the East Rockaway Zoning Board and Library Board where he serves as its Vice President.

Rich and Holly have 2 children, Austin, a student at Alabama and Olivia, who is still in high school.
