The Village of East Rockaway’s solemn September 11 Memorial Ceremony in Memorial Park brought neighbors together to honor and remember the loss of life and countless families from our community forever altered 23 years ago.

Standing in the shadow of sacred steel from the World Trade Center site which rests in our park in perpetuity, neighbors reflected on the lives and memories of 12 neighbors killed on September 11, 2001 in the terrorist attacks, as well as those survivors we know, and the first responders who ran into danger and helped without asking questions.

As Mayor Gordon Fox reminded us, we will #NeverForget the sadness of September 11, 2001 or how it changed us forever.
