As a lifelong resident of the Village of East Rockaway, Trustee Frank Passanisi III has dedicated his time, energy, and being to fellow community residents. Trustee Passanisi continues to be an active member of the East Rockaway Fire Department since August 1991, serving in various roles within the department and his company.
For nine years, Trustee Passanisi was a line officer and served as President of Hose Co. #1. He is a former Chief of Department, heading the East Rockaway Fire Department from 2015 to 2019, and has held numerous other positions, many elected by his fellow firefighters. He is also a member of the East Rockaway Commuters Club and Club Rock.
Passanisi also served many years as head coach for the East Rockaway Raiders and East Rockaway Little League, even serving on the little league’s Board of Directors. Community service is second nature to Frank; he began at a very young age volunteering and working for the community with the East Rockaway Recreation Department.
Professionally, Trustee Passanisi is a supervisor at the Nassau County Fire Communications Bureau, where his duties involve GIS mapping for the county, computer-aided software maintenance and design, training of new and current employees and more. Frank attended Nassau Community College and Empire State College, studying business management, emergency management, and community relations.
A graduate of East Rockaway High School, Passanisi also attended Rhame Ave Elementary School. Where a student at ERHS, Frank met his wife, Laura, a fellow student for the first time. Now married for over 20 years, they have three adult children.
