Village of East Rockaway Mayor Gordon Fox stood shoulder to shoulder in solemn tribute alongside local veterans, the East Rockaway American Legion and VFW Garrison Post #3350, and neighbors at Carrigan Point to remember December 7, 1941 and the attack on Pearl Harbor that led America into World War II.

With the water serving as a poignant backdrop, Mayor Fox, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran himself, joined others who also served in uniform protecting our freedom and liberties to honor the memory of the almost 2,400 people killed on the Day which will live in Infamy….one day that forever changed the course of American history.

Neighbors coming together to remember serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by the Greatest Generation and the resilience that defines our county and community. #EastRockaway will always honor and respect those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation, ensuring that the legacy of courage, service, and unity remains alive for future generations.

Mayor Gordon Fox & the East Rockaway Village Board have waived overnight street parking restrictions for Thanksgiving to best accommodate neighbors' family & loved ones celebrating the holiday in town.

The waiver is in effect from 6:00 p.m. this evening to this coming Monday, December 2, at 6:00 p.m.. Note that regular overnight street parking restrictions return once this waiver expires.

Thank you to Hewlett-East Rockaway Jewish Centre (HERJC) for hosting a wonderful Touch-A-Truck event for our community's children and their parents, loved ones, and caregivers.

Village of East Rockaway Trustees Stephanie Paul & Anthony J. Santino were joined by Senator Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick to see families enjoy this interactive, hands-on-event that allows children to climb on, explore and discover their favorite trucks and vehicles. The Village DPW was glad to send one of their vehicles for our kids to explore!

Thank you to Hewlett-East Rockaway Jewish Centre (HERJC) for hosting a wonderful Touch-A-Truck event for our community's children and their parents, loved ones, and caregivers. Village of East Rockaway Trustees Stephanie Paul & Anthony J. Santino were joined by Senator Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick to see families enjoy this interactive, hands-on-event that allows children to climb on, explore and discover their favorite trucks and vehicles. The Village DPW was glad to send one of their vehicles for our kids to explore!
