A message from

Mayor Gordon Fox

Welcome to the Village of East Rockaway’s new digital home. My administration provides our residents and taxpayers with stellar municipal services in the most cost-effective way possible. From our humble beginnings in 1869, when the term “East Rockaway” was combined for the very first time to refer to our area, to our incorporation as a village in 1900, our community has proudly embraced its rich past and nautical heritage. Our village thrives through its four core business districts – from Main Street to our bustling Waterfront, and from Atlantic to Centre Avenues. These areas, along with our vibrant neighborhoods, parks and open space, marina, recreation offerings, senior enrichment services, and other learning opportunities – in addition to our civic organizations and tight-knit community atmosphere – make the Village of East Rockaway a wonderful place to live, work, raise a family, and retire. Thank you for visiting us! We hope you find the information and resources here helpful and engaging. If the Village Board or I can ever be of assistance to you, give us a call at 516-887-6300 or e-mail us.

A beautiful evening celebrating light, tradition, and community at our Communal Menorah Lighting ✨ Mayor Gordon Fox, the Board of Trustees, Rabbi Schlesinger, and Chari Nacson, Religious School Director of the Hewlett-East Rockaway Jewish Centre, joined together to light the menorah on the lawn of Village Hall. We were proud to share this special moment with students from the HERJC Religious School and our community.
